Spooler was started with a vision to change the world not only through technology, but by using technology to empower everyday people to take control of what they wear, and as a result, the statements they want to make. Our brands provide innovative ways to put the power of design back in the hands of the people. Spooler spans the mobile app, e-commerce, and wholesale distribution channels and as a result of its products, keeps a strong pulse on what customers want in today’s ever-growing marketplace. Believe it or not, Spooler did not always seek to innovate the worlds of tech and fashion -- before we achieved a multi-million dollar valuation and like many visionary companies before us, there were humble, grassroots beginnings, creating custom designs with sharpie markers and brush strokes on trucker hats.

Launching as a pop-up retailer, our Founder "Benjamen Janey" developed a fun collection of painted trucker hats, along with a loyal customer base in Venice Beach, California. These designs became so popular among Venice beach tourists and locals, that he eventually began receiving custom requests from Hollywood actors, musicians, and entertainers including Jaleel White, Mel B (Spice Girls) Vivica Fox, Frank Stallone, Melissa Prophet, Lil Flip, and Dwyane Wade.

After a profitable test market, and to leverage the new demand, "Ben" raised a round of institutional startup capital which enabled him to launch a custom fashion kiosk partnership with recently acquired 15.7Bn Westfield Corp -- the first of its kind within Westfield's Portfolio. On-demand alone, the business grew from one to 30 employees in the blink of an eye.

Safely Put: customers loved the benefit of purchasing customized, socially trending fashion, at a mid-market price, completely on demand. 

Ben quickly created the standard for clothing customization in the local West LA market but eventually decided to "cut the fat", and pivoted from traditional retail into the digital space. This digital transformation led him to develop the blueprint for "Tymelss". Tymelss is an online marketplace where designers can create fresh, trending designs at rapid speed, and engage with others in the same fashion-forward community.

Similar to the pop-up on Venice, design inspirations on Tymelss derive from topics consumers care about -- that is, original parodies driven by relevant social issues, such as Women Empowerment, Social Justice, or American pop culture. The collections consist of tops, accessories, headwear, and legging prints, providing consumers with fashionable products that connect directly to their social interests and reflect relevant content of the day.

The back end of Tymelss functions as a marketplace that allows designers to become members of its online community where they can not only submit designs, but earn passive income, fuel real social change, and conversation, and connect with other members. The socially conscious appeal of the designs, released on limited cycles, creates urgency and motivates engagement of this nature.

All designs on Tymelss are available for both D2C as well as wholesale to retailers and consumer product licensing.

From an operational standpoint, Ben's intuition about the power of personalized fashion and the value of speed is legendary and produced the trajectory for a scalable double-sided platform that allows for rapid design, speed-to-market, low overhead, and no inventory risk. After the moment a consumer buys a product online, their order will be imported, made, and shipped on-demand.

In 2016, "Spooler, Inc" was formed. Spooler is a tech-driven apparel company that leverages technology to help people take control of what they wear - and the statements they want to make. The company houses the original HDLV-USA® brand, along with proprietary technology, digital products, and design services. Spooler has developed an innovative business model harnessing the power of fashion and tech to address and solve problems within the fashion industry. Spooler is a Capital Factory portfolio company (other investors include ClearCo, PayPal, and Shopify) and is positioned to become a leader in innovative companies in fashion technology.

One of our core R&D goals in the next 3-5 years is to develop custom solutions for the fashion industry using AI and to explore new possibilities in 3D Printing. Read about our current products below:

Tymelss Marketplace: 

Tymelss is a unique platform providing design tools and inspiration for designers to create timeless masterworks and earn income through Spooler's sales channels. Similar to how an art gallery focuses on attracting and retaining fantastic artists to ensure a strong end-customer experience, Tymelss intends to do the same. The strategy for Tymelss starts with the artist, and as a result, it is a priority. Artists derive two key benefits from our Tymelss platform (1.) career progression and (2.) monetary. WeDesyn App:

WeDesyn is an innovative app that allows anyone to design their own apparel in custom groups. WeDesyn's Q&A-like functionality is similar to Quora or StackOverflow. Groups can post ideas about a design and upvote/downvote until a winner is decided. After this period, the project is posted on our designer platform, where designers can submit polished versions of the winning design. Members of the group then vote on which polished design should be chosen before ultimately ordering the finished product.

Consumer Product Licensing:

Spooler has approximately $50,000 in pre-orders from licensing programs. Recently, we teamed up with a number of Fortune 500's including Tootsie Roll Properties, to release new tech accessory collections inspired by 1980's and 90's pop culture. 

Sesame Street Workshop:

In, 1961, “Sesame Street” used the television medium to engage preschool children on a journey through the interaction to teach moral life lessons and
educate children in basic pre-school skills in reading, math, science, and
geography with millions of benefactors worldwide. In 2019, we partnered with Sesame Street to launch their very first activewear collection featuring innovative designs, and inspirational quotes promoting living a healthy lifestyle to children and young adults.

As you can see, a major part of our blueprint is being socially responsible, which allows us to build interest and create valuable partnerships with other reputable brands and industry leaders.

EMBA 25'. "Ben" is an apparel industry pioneer and Founder of Spooler, Inc. "Ben" has an extensive track record in Design, Digital Media, Commerce Technology, and Marketplaces. Benʼs ever simple idea of customizing apparel for celebrities and tourists on Venice Beach has expanded to over 12 countries across the world, spawning product collaborations with iconic brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Sesame Street Workshop and Tootsie Roll Industries to name a few.  His executive experience expands an impressive career over 10 years, making Janey a favorite figure among enterprising millennials and innovative Founders today.

Phd. Shayandev provides voluntary technical support. Shayandev received his Phd in Research from the University of Maryland. Shayandev has worked 6 years in mechanical machine and technology development. Shayan’s notable experience and accomplishments in technology include development of a new portable thermally actuated microfluidic fluid handling system (at M.I.T). Full clean room and PCB manufacturing. Building new optics setup (UV and laser) for droplet imaging. Finite Element Modeling, CFD modeling of various systems like adhesion problems, flow simulation and 3D printing.

JW. Joey specializes in transactional work across the entire spectrum of entertainment and business law for Spooler. Joey worked as an in-house business & legal affairs attorney for over 7 years at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Universal Studios Consumer Products Group and Universal Interactive.  His experience includes negotiating and drafting agreements regarding the acquisition, development, production, financing and distribution of motion pictures, television programming, radio programming, interactive games and evolving new media content.  

MBA. Erin Patton is widely regarded as one of the nation's foremost experts on branding, and sports marketing. During his tenure with Nike, Inc, Erin was hand-picked by Michael Jordan to serve as the original architect for the Jordan brand, engineering its successful launch in 1997. Erin works as a senior-executive in Spooler and leads Product Development, and Brand Strategy.

Ivory Sully successfully transitioned out of professional football (LA RAMS-Defensive Back) and became the Brand Manager for Beverly Hills Polo Club Brand, and served as Vice President of Licensing and International Business for Pelle Pelle Jeans since 2011. Ivory works as an senior-executive in Spooler and leads Sales Operations w/ focus on Wholesale verticals and B2B.

As Social Media Manager of Tymelss, Carly works with the Marketing Team where Carly utilizes her writing skills, social media experience, and work ethic. The role is one of the key positions in the organization and is vital to growing our in-house brands and social media presence.

Lindsay is our UX and multi-media designer for Tymelss. "Linds" curates online media content, and delivers high quality user experiences utilizing various media and software including Adobe Premiere, In-Design, Adobe After Effects, Flash, and audio engineering via Protools, Logic, and Ableton Live. 

Juma brings 5+years of experience working in the creative industries. As our lead Art Coordinator for Tymelss, Juma sources potential strategic partners across the U.S., helps secure high-quality designers and ensures they meet art submission requirements for the platform.
